2016 Sofia's Vineyard

This singular wine is the apex of Cabernet Sauvignon produced at Skipstone – both of the physical vineyard plantings on our hillside and our winemaking aspiration. What more can we add to the seemingly endless praise of the 2016 vintage in our region? Philippe himself put 2016 in his top vintages he has experienced throughout his career, comparing it to the benchmark 1994 vintage. This wine follows suit with the characteristics of the vintage and site from which it is grown - exhibiting a towering structure of seamless tannins, ripe blue and black fruits, graphite, anise, and baking spice, all balanced by acidity that leaves this wine lingering on your palate long after tasting a sip. A towering wine that is best enjoyed 2024-2050.
