Sustainability
Our cherished site is farmed with an unparalleled commitment to sustainability, going beyond even the rigorous standards required to maintain our prized CCOF certification. This effort includes but is not limited to the practice of zero chemical manipulation of the vineyard. Absolutely no harmful chemical herbicides, pesticides or fertilizers are used to manage the vineyards. Instead, beneficial cover crops such as oats, peas, beans and vetch are planted each fall to suppress weeds naturally and return valuable nitrogen back to the soil while at the same time increasing water retention. This natural balance also attracts beneficial insects, eliminating the need for chemical insecticides. Our sustainable practices keep harmony between what we put in to caring for the land and the gifts we receive in return.
