Wildflowers at Skipstone vineyards

Organic Farming

Nothing stands above our devoted partnership with the earth.

We use the earth’s natural resources to enhance the health of our vineyard and eliminate harmful chemicals. Our organic and sustainable farming practices allow the grapes to express the natural complexity and balance of Skipstone’s unique terroir.

Wildlife is encouraged as part of our ecodiversity and perches and boxes for hawks, owls and bluebirds have been built around the property, encouraging them to feed on insects and other creatures that could potentially damage the delicate balance of the vineyard.

Throughout the growing season, the vineyard staff carefully monitors for plant and soil health. After harvest, organic compost is used throughout the rows to enhance soil quality. Cover crop seed is once again applied, and the cycle of life starts over at Skipstone.

This is more than a commitment to the vineyard and quality of our fruit, we believe it’s the right thing to do for our planet and future generations.
