Jason Heintz
Private Client Director
As a native of Napa, Jason grew up in a house surrounded by vineyards. After graduating from Carnegie Mellon University, he spent a decade in consumer electronics and graphic design in Silicon Valley. Always interested in wine, in 2010 Jason returned to the region to explore a profession in what has become a boom time in industry.
Jason’s first exposure to the wine industry came as a wine educator with Groth vineyards and winery. Always passionate and eager to interact with people, he excelled there at hosting and presentation while also learning much about, wine, viticulture, and hospitality.
In 2013 Jason first discovered Skipstone at Ma(i)sonry Napa Valley where he spent four years as the senior wine consultant. There he hosted individually curated tastings representing portfolios of over twenty small production wineries. In addition, he brought the experience on the road to private collectors throughout the country. At Ma(i)sonry, Skipstone wines were always a favorite of Jason’s to present, and they remained so as he moved onto other projects.
After spending just under a year with the estates of Cardinale and Lokoya, in 2017 Jason gladly came on board as the Private Client Director of Skipstone. Skipstone is a dream come true as it represents all that he loves most about wine: small production and hand-crafted wines, honest to the terroir, and geared towards enthusiasts and discerning collectors.
